Alexa Zhang is a Director at Asia Alternatives. She co-leads Asia Alternatives’ investments in venture and buyout in China and helps lead investments in buyout and special situations throughout Asia. She also helps lead deal sourcing, due diligence, deal execution, and portfolio management of private equity fund investments and co-investments in Greater China. She is based in Hong Kong and is part of the Beijing office.
Prior to joining Asia Alternatives, Ms. Zhang spent four years as a Principal at Horsley Bridge Partners ("HBP"), a global Fund of Funds, where Ms. Zhang was a member of the Investment Committee. Ms. Zhang was involved with HBP's investment activities in Asia, Latin America and United States and led HBP's secondary investment effort globally.
Previously, Ms. Zhang worked in direct private equity investing at Apax Partners, Newbridge Capital (HK) and Maveron. Ms. Zhang started her career as a financial analyst in the M&A group of the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs.

Ms. Zhang received an M.B.A. with merit-based scholarship from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and holds an A.B. in Economics, magna cum laude, from Amherst College. Ms. Zhang also studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at St Peter’s College, Oxford University. Ms. Zhang is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.
