William D.
LaFayette
is a Managing Director and
the Chief Financial Officer of Asia Alternatives. He leads Asia
Alternatives' San Francisco office, which serves as the Firm's base for investor
services, marketing and corporate financial management. Mr. LaFayette has
primary responsibility for the Firm's financial, tax and fund reporting,
as well as investor relations assistance. Mr. LaFayette is on the Firm’s
Investment Committee and leads the operational, accounting and tax due
diligence for all investments.
Mr. LaFayette has over 10 years of private equity experience. Prior to
joining Asia Alternatives, Mr. LaFayette founded a private equity and
venture capital consulting firm in 2002 which provided financial and tax
advice to private equity and venture capital firms.
Prior to establishing his own firm, Mr. LaFayette was a Senior Tax
Manager in the private equity/venture capital group with Deloitte and
Touche LLP in San Francisco, and was Director of Finance for Hellman
& Friedman LLC ("H&F"), a San Francisco-based private
equity firm. While at H&F, Mr. LaFayette oversaw the financial and
tax reporting functions. Mr. LaFayette began his career in 1996 with Arthur
Andersen LLP where he was a Tax Manager in the private equity and venture
capital group.
Mr.
LaFayette holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the
University of Southern California and is a California Certified Public
Accountant.
